Growth performance of osmanabadi goats under different feeding methods

The present experiment was carried out for 90 days (3 months) on either sex 72 Osmanabadi goat kids from 16 April 2017 to 15 July at COVAS, Udgir. experimental parameters the study were T0 - 8 Hrs Grazing + Concentrate (@ 2% of live body weight : 50% Morning Evening), T1 4 Hanging bunches Dry Grass & Green T2 Chaffed T3 Individual feeding (Dry+ Green+ Concentrate) Evening). Body Weekly height wither, growth in chest girth, length, overall average gain recorded goats all prescribed age groups Control, T1, and 3.36, 6.89, 5.12 4.04 kgs respectively. In goats, grazing alone cannot able meet nutritional demand body, hence malnourishment is common problem extensive rearing. Overall performance enhanced by offering adlib green fodder with supplementation concentrate mixture @ after hours range grazing.
